1. Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
    — Teddy Roosevelt

  8. Spring has officially sprung. To celebrate, I woke up early this morning and went for a long run on the East side. There really is something powerful about starting your day off before the majority of the city has even opened their eyes.

On the road, my thoughts were flying around, but eventually settled on part of a Cecil Beaton quote on vision that goes something like, “the creatures of the commonplace are the slaves of the ordinary.”

  12. If you can’t take the risk, I don’t blame you. I can try to resist, be tame for you. I can show you the sides, numbers and lines…I can’t keep your mind off.

  14. You should bring something into the world that wasn’t in the world before. It doesn’t matter what that is. It doesn’t matter if it’s a table or a film or gardening — everyone should create. You should do something, then sit back and say, I did that.

  15. Horizon.

I am standing on the sea shore, A ship sails in the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. She is an object of beauty and I stand watching her, Till at last she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says: “She is gone.”
